Some of the take home lessons from the Panel Discusion on “What drives entrepreneurs?”
The drive to pursue one’s passion is most important. One has to be brave to face the world and be committed to your passion. Ms. Marceline cited her example of how traveling from a young toung-tied youngster she became an RJ. She developed her gift of gab and enjoys anchoring different events. This is a profession that does not requires much investments. All it needs is a flair to engage the audience and love to talk to people.
What drives entrepreneurs is not just money, but a taste for facing challenges. Ranjani spoke about the independence and the attitude to learn and master any skill needed to take the entrepreneurship to the next level. Ranjani is an engineer but chose to train youngsters in dance, soft skills and other such skills. She has helped many other catch the entrepreneurship bug. She traced the mentorship she got from her father instilling discipline hardwork and commitment to the project in hand.
Jaishree is a Chartered Accountant and ventured into entrepreneurship late. Taking up a fledgling Halcyon footware from her brother, she single-handedly turned it around into a successful venture. Her planning and prescision made her venture a success.
Students today have many opportunities to earn while they study. They can chose to do RJing, content writing, take an agency for running an abacus training, the options are many. All that is needed is the drive to get your inner potential to shine.
After the panel discussion, the MGR _ Institution innovation council organized a business simulation game which gave a taste of real business scenario. Students participted in the event to understand terms in business.
